so this week i get the word that Michigan wants to ban about 200 different kind of alcohol beverages from the shelves. these include any beverage that contains a lot of caffeine and a high level of alcohol( ex. 4 loco, AM drink, tilt). all this is because a few kids got there hands on them and drank them really fast and had to go to the hospital because they passed out and had alcohol poisoning.
Well the thing that i don't understand is even if Michigan does ban these type of drinks, people will still be able to mix alcohol with liquor . you see it all time time at the bars, red bull and henny, monster and vodka, a lot of other mixtures. so if anyone can actually mix it, why is Michigan trying to ban these brands.
this is not the smartest idea at all. as we all know business is not like it use to be before and this would effect a lot of stores and markets that carry this product. the decision is not done yet but i personally don't think it will go through. 208 different brands is a whole lot to just take off the shelf. all 3 beer companies have their own kinds and it would hurt all of them as well. I'm not a drinker my self, i don't really drink at all so to me it wouldn't really effect but to my customers and to my friends it would, and i would hate to see that.
Every alcohol can or bottle can knock you down, cause alcohol poison, or kill you if you don't drink it responsibly so i just don't see why Michigan is trying to take these off the shelf. if this law does go through, as of DEC 1, 2010 we will not be able to carry or sell these items.. only time will tell what happens now.

lottery maniacs
OK so i kinda see this everyday, and iv been wanted to share my thoughts with all of you about the lottery. i think that it is so stupid that people wake up in the early morning thinking about the lottery numbers. i work at 4 stations all in Detroit and i see this happening everyday. people come in with numbers and when the machine is down, its like a panic attack for every lottery player. Even in Christmas they are thinking about playing the lottery. Wow, Now with all this said, there is more. Have you seen these books and these papers that tell you the lottery numbers ex. dream books. I think that these people are going insane of this lottery machine, they actually believe that a dream will help them hit the lottery. I think they're crazy but who knows, I'm not a everyday lottery player so ill never know about it.

people drink too much
i have been working in the liquor store business for over 4 years now and i have noticed alot of crazy things about people who drink on a daily basis. I noticed that they make drinking such a bad habbit that they dont know when to stop drinking. it can be in the day or in the night, its all day long and if one day they don't get it, there totally changed. sometimes they even come to the store drunk and asking for more. i have seen it all. I seen underage people try to buy. I seen drunk people trying to buy. Just about 2 weeks ago, i had a customer come here drunk and try to buy more liquor. When i did not sell it to him, he started to cus me out. He also thretned to call the cops on me. I was laughing so hard i could not believe what he had just told me. But it happens, people drink too much and accidents happen. i hope sometime soon we can find a solution to this and lower the drunk and driving rates.

Cheap to buy, priceless to wear
My name is Nash Hermiz and I'm writing a blog on helmets laws in Michigan. I don't like them or agree with them. I believe that we, the bike riders should choose to wear a helmet or not. I hate the fact that we have to ride all the way out to another state just to ride helmet less. I do agree that helmets save lives and all, but I still believe that it should be our choice. It’s like the seat belt laws. They play the same role and I don't agree with them either. I myself have fallen off a bike before and I know how dangerous a bike/ motorcycle is. Yet despite the dangerous of it, I still believe that we should have a choice, just like we choose to jump on a bike and ride, we should have a choice to wear a helmet or not. I know a lot of people who leave Michigan and go to Iowa and Illinois so they could ride without a helmet on their heads. It’s all about the adrenaline rush you get from riding without one. I have tried it before and I love it. It’s like you’re on a rollercoaster and you get to feel the rush coming against your face. It’s a long drive to another state but it's worth it. If the laws in Michigan were changed and we were allowed to ride without a helmet, we would not have to drive that far. Helmets are not the most expensive things that you buy when riding but they are definitely not necessary to have. Just like I said they are priceless to wear. Michigan laws should be changed and allow a person to choose to have one or not. It would just be fair and not wrong.
